Schucal 2019
New Schucal 2019 has been published and is ready to install.
This is a critical update. Please install it as soon as possible, your actual Schucal version does not sync service packs and actual price lists anymore. That makes Schucal not compatible with actual system definitions and material prices.
Warning: Schucal users who have installed custom systems/profiles prepared for US market can lose these system definitions after this update.
However, projects made with these custom updates will not be removed and will stay in your Schucal database.
Immediately after Schucal 2019 installation please install again all custom systems/profiles definitions that you were using in your projects BEFORE opening them in the Schucal. This procedure will preserve all custom system and let you create new ones as before.
It is also suggested to make backup of custom system/profiles based projects (Schucal tab Manage > Export data) BEFORE installing new Schucal.
If you need custom installers please send me a list with required systems so I will share the links to the latest ones.
As an summary for custom systems/profiles scenario:
- Make backup of custom system/profiles based projects (Schucal tab Manage > Export data)
- Install and start Schucal 2019. Do not open projects with custom systems/profiles definitions.
- Shut down Schucal.
- Install custom systems/profiles definitions form installers I sent before. Ask me if you can not find them, I will resend again.
- Start Schucal. Now you are safe to open existing custom projects and create new ones.
Network database users: After first run of new Schucal in network database environment it will convert the database to the new format.
After this process all other Schucal stations that were not updated yet will loose access to the database, until they are updated as well.
You can download and run the cloud installer from the location:
After the start, cloud installer will ask for temporary package download location. Just click Select folder button to confirm default:

After a while you will see progress window with download time estimation:

The installer needs about 40 min (it depends of your local internet speed) to complete download and installation process.
After this phase installation process will start automatically.
In case of any troubles please contact me so I will be able to help ASAP.

About Schüco AWS 75 PD.SI
- The side-hung, bottom-hung, turn/tilt and fixed glazing opening types can be entered.
- Can also be used as an insert unit in mullion/transom façades.
- Schüco AWS 75 PD VV.SI ventilation vent: In the Schüco AWS 75 PD.SI system, the ventilation vent opening types can be selected (side-hung, DIN LH and DIN RH).
- Side-hung, bottom-hung and turn/tilt opening types: The permissible pane composition is verified with regard to the wind load.
- Under the Wind load group in the Field properties dialog box, you can select the appropriate wind load for the opening in accordance with EN 12210. If the composition deviates from the default for this wind load, you will receive a corresponding notification.
- To help you select the correct profiles, there is an additional Glass thickens. column in the article selection dialog box for vent profiles. This column lists the glass thicknesses that can be used for glazing the respective vents.
- New technical setting for push-in gearbox Art. No. 277000:
The new push-in gearbox Art. No. 277000 can be used up to a glass thickness of 42 mm. In the technical settings under the Fitting group for the property SimplySmart cavity-fitted gearbox, a choice can be made between the options symmetrical or Push-in gearbox.
For openings with glass thicknesses over 42 mm, the symmetrical cavity-fitted gearbox is always generated automatically.

Glass and panel data:
Sound insulation value for glass templates and panel templates
As of this version, a sound insulation value is entered under the additional technical data for the templates stored in the program.
Please note:
Any data that you have already adjusted for the glass and panel templates will be reset to the default by this change.
Glass and panel data:
Automatically calculated Psi values
Under the Technical data group in the Glass/panel dialog box, you can specify whether the Psi value of the glass or panel is calculated automatically.
In the previous versions, the automatic Psi value was always calculated as a representative value based on the specifications in the datasheets of the Bundesverband Flachglas (German Federal Flat Glass Association, “Warm Edge” working group). As of this version, the automatically calculated value can also be calculated based on ift guidelines WA-22/2 (for façades) and WA-8/3 (for windows), considering the glass thickness-dependent correction values. To this end, there is now a new selection list in the Glass/panel dialog box.

The default is the previous calculation in accordance with the BF datasheet. The automatic Psi value calculation of existing glass remains unchanged.
“Article with packing unit” dialog box:
“Included since” column
As of this version, the additional Included since column can be displayed in the Article with packing unit dialog box. As was also previously already possible in the Article management dialog box, you can now use the filter function for the columns, in order to gain an overview of items that have been newly included. As both article numbers are always shown as a pair in the dialog box, the date for the most recently added article is displayed in the column.

Desktop settings:
“Port” for “web service”
In the Desktop settings dialog box, the default port for interface communication can be changed for other applications if necessary, when the standard port 7070 is already being used by other programs.
User-defined articles made from steel:
Optimization and output sorted by surface finish
User-defined articles made from steel can be entered as additional material with different surface finishes. As of this version, you can define whether these options are to be optimized and output sorted by surface finish.
To this end, you will find a new property User-defined articles made from steel sorted by surface finish in the Optimization settings dialog box.
a. If you do not check this checkbox, these options will be optimized together as in the previous versions and shown in the quantity list, bulk quantity list and the order without stating the surface finish (mill finish). They will only be sorted by surface finish in the coating plan.
b. If you check this checkbox, these options will be optimized sorted by primer, pre-treatment, topcoat and color and output separately in the relevant lists (cutting optimization, quantity list, bulk quantity list, pick list, list of effective material and order).
Windows and façades (aluminum):
Calculation of the airborne sound reduction value Rw,res
As of this version, the sound reduction value Rw,res can be calculated for the entire item (for suitable units). To be able to do this, test values must exist for all the fields contained in an item.

The airborne sound reduction value is calculated concurrently and displayed in the unit view. In addition, you can check the result in the new Airborne sound reduction mode and make targeted changes there as required. When suitable infills are selected in the Change glass/panel dialog box, the airborne sound reduction value Rw,res that results for the entire item when the glass/panel is used, is shown in the additional column Airborne sound reduction value for the entire item column.
You can output the result in the new Airborne sound reduction list.
